Prerequisite: Back-fly up and down movement.
Desired outcome: Shift sideways in both directions using balanced whole-body inputs, then stop on heading without gaining or losing altitude.
Key points:
- Begin in neutral at the center or one side of the tunnel.
- Combine upper- and lower-body inputs to deflect airflow evenly to one side.
- Adjust the balance of each input to maintain heading and apply the opposite input to stop.
- For faster slides, add torso and hip pitch and begin the stopping input earlier.
Coaching and safety: Establish the direction, travel limit, and stop point before starting. Increase speed only after accurate heading and altitude control are consistent.
