Prerequisite: Super Positioning.
Desired outcome: Enter as a linked two-flyer group and establish the briefed formation at a controlled, low altitude.
Reference material: IBA Flight Tutorials #8, #9, and #10.
Manual scope: The Formation manual includes linked group entrances in its Level 2 two-way lesson. The progression chart displays entrances in Level 3, so this page keeps that chart placement.
Key points:
- Brief the entrance order, grips, slots, level, and release plan before the flight.
- Both flyers are responsible for stopping the entrance and remaining low in the tunnel.
- Maintain visual contact and establish a stable formation before beginning another movement.
- If a flyer becomes unstable, that flyer waits for the instructor while the stable flyer moves low and away.
Coaching and safety: Coordinate the entire entrance with the on-duty instructor. Use only a formation and entry method appropriate to both flyers' demonstrated skill.
