Prerequisite: Belly-fly up and down movement.
Desired outcome: Move sideways in both directions using balanced whole-body inputs, then stop on heading without gaining or losing altitude.
Key points:
- Begin in neutral at the center or one side of the tunnel.
- Lower the leading-side elbow, shoulder, and knee slightly while extending the trailing arm.
- Balance each input to preserve heading and apply the opposite input to stop.
- For faster slides, increase whole-body pitch and begin the stopping input earlier.
Coaching and safety: Define the travel path and stopping point before the flight. Start with small movements and increase distance or speed only after the student demonstrates consistent heading and altitude control.
